A Night in a Retro Rocket // Bristol

If you've ever found yourself thinking "I wonder what it'd be like to spend a night in a trailer", then stick around because today I'm talking about a place where you can do exactly that!

Brooks Guesthouse is a boutique hotel thats ticking all the right boxes. Tucked away in St Nicholas Market, right in the heart of Bristol's Old Town, it's the perfect base for a little weekend getaway.

Matt and I visited a few weeks back to celebrate his birthday. We're always trying to find quirky new things to do together, and I think I've definitely outdone myself stumbling across this unique accommodation find.

There's a big open kitchen/dining area where breakfast is served each morning, and a courtyard covered in the street art graffiti that Bristol is famous for. There's also a collection of books, board games and DVDs for guests to borrow.

And on top of this (literally on the rooftop!) it offers travellers a rad place to call home for the night: a retro rocket!

These 1950s American trailers are perched on the roof of the hotel with panoramic views across the city. You can choose from a 16ft, 18ft or 20ft caravan.

Each comes with a big double bed at one end, and a booth-style seating area at the other. They all have a TV fitted to the wall, a shower room, free Wi-Fi and LED lights which give the room a romantic purple glow.

It was a very snug (Matt's pretty tall so he banged his head a couple of times!) but super cosy stay. The retro rocket is perfect for a romantic night away and we'd definitely recommend it. If you fancy staying in in one, be sure to book early because these bad boys book up well in advance.
